Alliteration is repetition of  the similar  initial sound of each word.

Example:

Sir saw a snake on the seashore.

The teachers of Glan-Padidu National High School joined the two-day field trip at Lake Sebu, South Cotabato on December 17-18, 2011.

The teachers experienced the trekking of 7 falls, survived in the zip line and aboard in one hour water boating.

This educational field trip is a part of the long plan Staff Development of the teachers.

The most exhilarating experience is the zip line at Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. It is the South Cotabato’s Thrilling seven falls zip line. This zip line is the highest in South East Asia at a stunning height of more than 180 meters high with 740 meters long in first ride  and 420 meters long fun zip line in the second ride.

For almost 30 years in service to Glan-Padidu National High School, Mrs. Virgie Flores hosts her retirement party on October 28, 2011, 4:00 pm at Glan Municipal Gymnasium.

Mrs. Flores retirement party is also her 65th birthday to be celebrated. Among the expected guest are the Sarangani DepEd Personnels, LGU’s, co-Teachers of GPNHS, friends and family.

“I still be coming to the school even if my term of service as a teacher ended up.” Mrs. Flores said.

GPNHS Teachers and Staff expressed their greetings through videos which are compiled by ICT Department. It followed with teachers’ dance numbers in the Department of English, Science, Math, & Makabayan.

The Tribu Padiduanon,which is the Glan-Padidu National High School contingent, received P60,000.00 and maintained its 3rd place rank  for several years to the 12th Glan Lubi-lubi Fest on October 8, 2011 at Glan Central Elementary School Oval Ground.

GPNHS Dancers exerted much effort to compete among the five (5) aspiring schools namely Glan School of Arts and Trades (1st Place P100,000.00), Notre Dame of  Glan (Second Place P80,000.00), and consolation prizes of P20,000.00 to every delegates of  Sultan-Kudarat State University- Glan Extension, San Vicente National High School and Leonard Young National High School.

          “I am impressed with this year’s performance of every schools. For the next year Lubi-lubi festival, I am increasing the first prize to P200,000.00″. said Victor James C. Yap, Sr., Glan Municipal Mayor.

         The thanks giving party of Tribu Padiduanon is set on October 21, 2011, 1:00 pm after the 2nd Grading  Examinations of students.

         A lot of trainings  being  attended from wood badge of Boys Scout of the Philippines at Alabel last August 29- September 4, 2011 and then going to computer web training at Bukidnon State University, Malaybalay City Bukidnon on September 5-9, 2011.

        Recently, I am staying now at NEAP Region XI Home for Teachers. I am waiting for the  bus schedule of going to General Santos City for the next day.

      Being a teacher, I will use my time wisely in balancing the commitments I have. Having a lot of responsibilities every now and then made me strong to the noble possession which I choose.

     Hence, I will discover and explore more I as go on to this endeavor.

Directions:There are three groups to be assigned as Elves, Wizards and Giants. The Elves stay at SSG Cottage and the Wizards occupy the TLE Cottage while the Giants live at the Math Shed. In the group, the leader assign the two members as partners whose name tags are Com and Pound. Com and Pound pick the first rolled paper question to the camp quiz master. There is one set of two answers to be arranged and paired by Com and Pound. Going back to their assigned area, Com and Pound ask the members to help them in unlocking the question. The correct answer is written in paper . Again, the leader choose another members to act as Com and Pound.If the groups are done with the 15 questions. They will sing this jingle “Merry Go Around.”The group gets the highest score wins. For example:

Many students nowadays are used to go in internet cafe for gaming, video conferencing, researching, blogging and engaging in social networks. Having these enormous net activities, a new breed of people who uses technology coined as “netizens”. Most of netizens spend their precious time in the net, bringing their laptops anywhere, browsing their wap configured mobile phones, tapping their ipods and ticking their netbooks.

To address this “netizens” phenomenon, Universities throughout the Philippines are now installing wifi zones and maintaining its public domain to have open-universities which offer distant and modular learning. Learning from the internet becomes everbody’s business. Students and teachers are bringing their gadgets to get wireless connections for e-classrooms.

In the foundations of education, There are lot of strategies listed to make classroom learning productive. To cope with this so called “netizens”, below are some suggestive e-classroom strategies to be used both teachers and students in maximizing the used of technology.

Online Teaching as Strategy

Classroom teaching is now more on the digital age. The teachers are being transform into online teachers with 24/7 schedule. The teachers design lesson plans digitally and interactively using websites that offers free blog content such as wordpress.com.

Online teaching is an emerging strategy in showcasing the lessons to students beyond the four walls of the classroom. The teaching process is now done in the internet by posting students answers and comments online. These online responses are being moderated by the teacher.

Another great innovations in online teaching is conducting of the examinations and quizzes which are paperless. By keying in the questions and answers to http://www.thatquiz.com, the students are notified through emails having their test codes in order to take the test.

Also, the pictures of students outputs in classroom demonstrations are posted and be voted upon if viewers like it by clicking vote button. One of the examples to this online survey is on http://mythologysksu.wordpress.com/pictures.

Mobile Phones with bluetooth as Strategy

Inside the classroom, by sending e-books to be read and pictures to be viewed in the cellphones can be an strategy. Some of the lessons are needed to be copied and be read but doing tiresome job is time consuming. The students spend their time in copying the lesson which is a tedious work.

Reading e-books makes students easy to comprehend the lesson presented or viewing pictures like greek gods and goddesses lets students visualize the characters presented in e-books.

Laptop as Strategy

Though it is expensive to buy laptop but both teachers and students should consider its advantage for today’s technology driven society.

Lessons of the day is best presented if laptop is used. The teacher uses PowerPoint presentations in imparting important class generalizations of a particular topic like “Mythology and Folklore”.

Similarly, using laptops, the students are viewing the video on “Percy Jacksons” and “The Clash of Titans”. After viewing, a learning log is being answered as an assessment.

“Hence, beyond these strategies, both teachers and students shall set ground rules to enjoy the benefits of technology in and out of the classroom. Setting the ground rules like : 1)cellphones are off during class discussions but cellphones are allowed to be on after the class or transferring of data, 2) do not reveal your password to your classmates and 3) always acknowledge your resources.”
